Physics is the branch of science concerned with the nature and properties of matter and energy. The subject matter of physics includes mechanics, heat, light and other radiation, sound, electricity, magnetism, and the structure of atoms.

Physics developed as a result of human efforts to find answers to Why?

Physicists try to find answers to big questions like:

How did the universe begin?
What is the future of the Universe?
What are the basic building blocks of matter?

Physicists are engaged in  the discovery and formulation of the fundamental laws of nature.
